Ganesha Amethyst and Rose Quartz Bracelet

Ganesha, also spelled Ganesh is the elephant-headed Hindu deity said to be the remover of obstacles and is often worshipped at times of new beginnings.

There is so much I could write about this deity and perhaps I will do so in a blog post. I have some very special Ganesh pieces including a reclining Silver Ganesh that I just adore.  Ganesh has so much to offer.  His big belly represents generosity and total acceptance.  His upraised hand represents protection, he is saying "Fear not, I am with you" and his lowered hand with his palm facing outwards represents giving as well as an opening to receive.

Ganesha also has a teeny mouse at his feet.  Can you imagine, an elephant with a mouse at its feet, surely the mouse would be in danger, however the mouse represents the 'chewing away' of the ties that bind and the 'eating away of ignorance'.

I may be a little obsessed with this deity as I have found he has given me so much support.  He is a great unifier across religions, Hindu's, Vaishnavites, Buddhists etc. all find a place for Ganesh.

As an elephant he represents the qualities of wisdom and faithfulness.  A support to being single minded in pursuits.

One of my favourite chants is "Ganesha Sharanam, Sharanam Ganesha" which is a powerful mantra which calls upon Ganesh to remove ignorance and to provide protection.
