The Hamsa hand is known by different terms in different cultures however it is considered a protective amulet, bringing its owner happiness, luck, health and good fortune.
The Divine Hamsa Hands that I have used on these earrings are made from non tarnish silver and are the same on both sides, although I have only set the front with the Swarovski crystal 'eye'.
These earrings are special as each of the fingers on the Hamsa hand is celebrated. The word "Hamsa" actually means 'five' and it represents the fingers of the right hand, in Hinduism and Buddhism the right hand represents the energy flow within the body, the five senses and the mudras that affect them.
Each finger on the Hamsa hand is connected to each of the elements and to one of the Chakras. (I am going to write more about the Hamsa had in a blog post that I hope to finish shortly and will details this but feel free to message me if you would like more information.
These Hamsa hands face down and this is also symbolic as it is said that a downward facing Hamsa hand opens you up to all of the abundance and goodness that the Universe holds and welcomes this into your life. Hand facing down is also said to bring answers to prayers and to manifest intentions. The fingers closed together as they are symbolise the bringing of good luck.
I have used high grade Amethyst, beautiful suede Swarovski crystal pearls and divine teeny rondelles and I have handmade every link on these stunning earrings.
Amethyst is a stone of spiritual protection and purification and can bring the feeling of being surrounded and protected by a 'bubble of Light'.
These are definitely OOAK (One of a Kind) as whilst I may make something similar, I will not be making another pair that are the same as this beautiful pair as these will stay as unique as the individual who wears them.
These earrings are deceptively light. The longest dangle is 5.5cm (2¼”) and the maximum width of the Hamsa Hand is 1.5cm (just under ¾”)
